Wade's Wyoming Trip

Wade, his dad and brother and family friend Lou just got back from a coyote hunting trip in Wyoming. They fought the cold, snow and wind but managed to have a great time and get a few coyotes. Here are a few pictures of their adventures.
Bob got stuck in the sand and snow within 10 minutes of arriving. Wade pulled him out and then made sure that he didn't forget it all week!!!

Here is a photo of Wade and Matt in a canyon in the Red Desert after the early snowstorm. They spent the night in their trailers in 14 degree temps with 40 mph winds..... IT WAS COLD. They decided to head a little South to get out of the snow.

After they moved out of the snow, they saw some wild horses and a lot of antelope.

.......and even found a few coyotes!!!!

Then they headed home a day early to get out before they got snowed in. They drove through a snowstorm to make it home and are happy to be back.

An Exciting Day

We have some exiting news today!! If you haven't read my previous post, Whitney's bottom teeth are coming in. One of them broke through this morning. Already you ask, yes, I asked myself the same thing. Another first for Whitney today was rolling back to front. We have been practicing all week. And by we I mean we. I was down on the floor with her rolling around to show her how it's done. Her cousin Brynna is a rolling machine and her friend Katelyn mastered the roll too. It was time to put Whitney's skills to the test. She has only made it over once, it is a work in progress. Third on my list of excitement is that my sister had her second daughter today. Callie Susan, 7lbs 5oz and 20 inches. I can't wait to see some pictures!! And do I dare call it prematurely to say that IOWA won tonight for an undefeated season so far?!?! I'm not willing to stay up to watch the last 7 minutes! Practicing the roll yesterday, close but not close enough.

First Tooth

Whitney's bottom right tooth popped through this morning. The drooling and teething had really picked up these last few days so I suspected they were coming. She was drooling so much that she was soaking the sheets during her naps and her face would be in a puddle of drool. The faucets have been on since three months, so really I have been thinking for quite some time that they were coming. Anyway, she has been pretty good about it. Only slightly cranky, but no fever or diarrhea. I'm excited she is getting teeth because it's fun when your baby does new things, but mostly not excited if that makes any sense. What does a five month old need teeth for? It must be a Welsh thing to get teeth earlier. Her cousins Owen, 18 days older, and Brynna, 9 days older, have both had teeth for a few weeks now. So, mark another milestone on the calendar. You will have to wait for pictures of the pearly whites after they have come in more and are photographable.

Packing Up

With the weather change and with how quickly Whitney is growing, I decided today was a good day to pack up the 3-6 month clothes and break out the 6-12. A majority of her 3-6 clothes is summer clothes, but they are also getting snug and too short. May as well start wearing the 6-12 that is a little big, than the 3-6 that is a little small. The 9 month pj's seem huge, but her little toes are starting to get squished! I remember when my sister packed up her daughter Alaina's clothes and she said she felt a little sad to put away the baby clothes. I thought, boo hoo, so you're putting some clothes away and moving up. I didn't feel sad moving from 0-3 to 3-6, but for some reason it feels different moving into the 6-12, like it's some giant leap. I'm not sad like crying sad, just a little like oh my gosh how quickly they grow sad. The clothes remind me of when Alaina wore them and she was crawling, walking and talking. (sigh) That means Whitney is soon approaching those milestones as well. She will no longer be our little baby! She's already getting pretty good at sitting up. She sat in the room with me for quite a while and only tipped over a few times, onto the piles of clothes!

Oops!

I got all these clothes from the GAP outlet in the spring for $27!! They were winter clearance items, so I planned ahead. I'm excited that Whitney will finally be able to start wearing them, guess I'm not sad anymore! This is also the first clothes that I have bought for Whitney. Thank goodness for an older sister who had a girl first (and Stefanie who handed down Abby's clothes) ! My sister is due to have another girl any day so we're getting lots of use out of baby clothes by sharing.

Well, Whitney likes it.

None too thrilled about it's current resting place. You will notice that there is also a dead duck in our living room. We are in negotiations as to what I get out of this. I myself am in disbelief that Wade has taken over the decorating. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??

5 Months

Our baby girl is five months old today!! She is growing and learning every day, it is so fun. We are quickly moving out of the 3-6 month clothes, both because of her weight and length. We have been through 3 boxes of cereal and 5 containers of food so far. She liked the sweet potatoes and we have also tried squash, pears, beans and applesauce. She will eat the beans and applesauce if it is mixed together, but not seperately. Same with the squash and pears.

Some of her likes and dislikes so far.... she likes her mommy and daddy, her cereal (she eats it like a piranha!), her high chair, bath time, sitting up to play, chewing on her thumb, to be outside (what baby doesn't?), her bouncer, to lay on the changing table, to blow razzberries, to touch everything, to shake the bejeezus out of everything, to sleep on her tummy, and the songs You Are my Sunshine and Six Little Ducks. She dislikes her car seat, trying new food, strangers that startle her, sleeping on her back, pacifiers (she will chew them but not suck them), bibs, drying under her neck after the bath, her bumbo seat, toys that are out of her reach, books because she can't pick up the pictures to eat them, tummy time and laying on her back. And the biggest one, she dislikes being away from her mommy for too long. Okay, maybe that one's mine!! Yep, green camo hat. Wade had bought that for the first baby who was due in Dec. I think we need a girly hat!!

She was pretty interested in me and what I was doing with the camera, funny!
