I had some blueberries that were going to go bad if not eaten soon. I have the best of intentions to eat fresh fruit, but I have a hard time actually doing it. Some of you have seen my snack cupboard so you know the choices I am dealing with. Anyway... I made some brownies using a brownie mix (of course it's not from scratch, I'm not Suzie Homemaker!) and added whole blueberries, lots of them. They cooked just fine and the brownies are delicious and nutritious! I think I will have blueberry brownies for breakfast tomorrow.... and don't think I won't!
I have the Deceptively Delicious cookbook and I'm definitely going to have to start trying some recipes. Maybe I should have added strawberries to the brownies too, hmmm, too much?

This weekend we traveled to Peoria, IL for a wedding. Wade's college buddy Travis Russell got married. We were those parents that had a fussy baby right when the bridal party was coming down the isle, and then she was fine for the rest of the wedding, go figure! Wade was able to see some friends he hadn't seen in a long time. Shortly after the dance got started I had to take Whitney back to the room. The lights and loud music were a little too much for her and she slept another 7 hour stretch that night! We weren't able to do anything fun for father's day since we were traveling, but Happy Father's Day Wade!

We just got back today from our family vacation. My Mom's side of the family came here to Missouri, which is great for us with a baby! We stayed at LORA (Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area). It's owned by the military and there are cabins, boats, jet skis, and tubes for rent. It's a decent vacation for the price. We spent the week at the beach, on the boat tubing and fishing, shopping at the outlet mall, touring Bridal Cave, and eating dinner together every night as one big family. Unfortunately this week there were crazy severe storms while we were there and it caused the lake level to rise, wiping out most of the beach and causing lots of debris in the water and along the shores. Then after the storms passed it has been ridiculously hot. Wade was able to come up for the weekend, but then had to go back to work so I didn't get any pictures of us on our first family vacation. Whitney did really good sleeping in her pack and play again, and she even slept for 7 hours straight one night!! I got some awesome sleep while there. I think I need to take vacations with just Whitney more often!! Since I think Whitney and my niece Alaina are so cute, I realized all my pictures involve them!

Whitney looks like a super chub, but she's still in her newborn clothes in this picture! This picture was taken at about 3 weeks, the rest of the pictures are from this past saturday on.
