Wal-Mart

I go to Wal-Mart once a week, mostly for groceries. First, I will say that I love Wal-Mart. You can get practically all you need from one place and the prices are low. Wade hates going to Wal-Mart. He doesn't like people in a crowded place. I love watching people at Wal-Mart. Mostly you will have the people who just want to get what they need and get out. Then you will have those people that sit and stare at the products on the shelf forever, wondering which one is the better option. Get out of my way, I don't have time for that! I admit I used to do this occasionally before I had Whitney, now it is get what I need quickly and get out. Now I get home and unload my goods and wonder how some things even got in my cart. Then you have those people who have wild screaming kids and they yell at them and threaten abuse. These shouts usually have to do with a kids behind. "Get your a@@ over here!" or "I'll whoop your bottom!" And people love babies, especially older people and they LOVE to talk to you about your baby. An old man today told me Whitney was going to be the third woman president. Kids love babies too. A young boy saw Whitney and said, "Hey baby, I love you baby!" Very cute. Today I saw a lady in a UNI t-shirt, so I chatted with her for a few seconds, saying I graduated from there, and found out she used to work there. You are never too far from home in a military community. You never know who or what you will encounter in Wal-Mart. I love it!! OH! And I must mention there are those people that seem to be on the same shopping pace as you, you meet them in every isle and you're trying to buy the same stuff.

May 3 and July 30

It's amazing how fast they grow, sad and exciting at the same time......

Before and After

Last night we had a welcome for the new CSM's (Command Sergeant Major) wife. Whitney was all dressed up and wondering where I was taking her next. We're pretty busy with Wade being in command, there's always something going on or some meeting to go to. Whitney is a great baby, but a lot of these events are in the evening and they take their toll on her. Our tired baby!
Our waitresses for the evening were two students I had when I was subbing the last week of April. I obviously didn't make it to work that last Friday so they knew I was having the baby, and the expression on their faces when they realized who I was, was so cute. They were excited to get to see the baby that had been in my stomach.

I Have a Ghost in My Dishwasher

I hate those large plastic cups. It doesn't matter how well I think I've wedged them in there, they some how manage to flip over and fill up with water. It must be that ghost in my dish washer!

May Babies

Our friends Jack and Erin came through town with their little girl Katelyn. Whitney was born May 1 and Katelyn May 6. It's too bad they live so far away, but in the Army we may link up again. Here are some pictures from their photo shoot!
"We are supposed to look where?"
"What do you think you're doing Whitney?"

"Is this better?"

Baby Bath Time

Whitney loves, loves, loves bath time. She instantly starts smiling as soon as she hits the water. She was smiling and talking to Daddy. I think we need to tell Daddy the foam letters go on the tub wall, not baby's forehead!!

Old Friends and New Friends

On monday I drove up to Osage Beach to where my long time friend Misty was vacationing with her family. It had been two years since we had seen each other, and in that time we both had babies!! Griffen was born Oct 1 of 2008. Hopefully Whitney and Griffen will have a chance to become friends as well, maybe boyfriend and girlfriend???? Already playing match maker! Griffen was interested in Whitney, trying to grab her and pull her to him. He was a little too strong to let them interact though!

We went up to Iowa for the 4th of July weekend. We stopped in southern Iowa and dropped Wade off at our land. Wade spent the weekend cutting down trees and helping his mom build their new shed. I continued on with Whitney to his sister Jessica's. We finally got all the cousins together! Grandma Cathy and Whitney

Hummingbirds WILL Drink Blue Water

In May when my parents were here we got a hummingbird feeder because we noticed we had them around. We bought some food coloring and made our own syrup. Mom said it had to be red or they wouldn't come drink it. Well, Wade being the dare devil that he thinks he is, made blue water. We had neglected to fill it for a while so we weren't sure if they would come back, but they did. The bird that sits on top there thinks he owns the feeder. He chases off the other hummingbirds that come to drink. Our own little fighter pilots right outside our window!

Two Months Today

Whiteny is two months old today!! We had her well baby appt this morning. It went very well. She was mad during the check-up portion so she was able to show off her strength doing her little baby push ups. Go Whitney!! Then I got her fed before her shots so she was in sleep mode and was quiet before her shots, turned into crying tomato head during the shots, and then a minute later she was quiet and sleeping again. Whew! Now if it can go that well at her four month. Overall she is on track and a healthy baby.
