Silly Girl

She loves Wheel of Fortune!!! seriously, she really does!
Getting a box ride with her kitty cat

She likes to carry things around while she is walking. She will find ANYTHING to carry around, she is so silly, she will walk for hours because she is just so excited she can do it by herself. I'm going to enjoy it while I can before she wants me to play with her all the time again!

at the park yesterday, she really liked going down the little slides

Outside this morning, it's going to be 70 today!!!!

Picture Post

She likes to push the chair around the kitchen

She thought riding in the cart this way was pretty fun.

Giving me rocks because she knows she is not supposed to eat them. She tries to sneak them in her mouth, she puts rocks or grass in her mouth really fast when she thinks I won't notice and then she clamps her mouth shut and ignores me when I try to get them out. She does this with everything she knows she is not supposed to eat. She will go hunting on the kitchen floor trying to find a piece of dirt or grass. Or paper, she likes to try to eat paper and then hide it from me.

Watching the neighbor's dog. She was pointing, waving, clapping and screaming at the dog. Good thing the dog doesn't bark and just stares at her. In the last few weeks she has figured out that she can point at whatever she sees or wants, pretty cute!
She is getting really good at walking now and I swear she went around our coffee table at least 100 times today. She just goes around and around and around.....she did this for, seriously, like an hour. Today she is trying to run when she is excited, but hasn't realized she needs to master walking first. Along with the ability to walk has come a better temperment. Which is a relief because she would throw major temper tantrums when we wouldn't walk her.

Beautiful Day

Whitney has discovered our neighbor's dog in the back yard and likes to look out the window.
Today was just fabulous, 75 degrees!! The sun was out, the breeze was blowing, and we had the sweet smell of sunscreen on our skin. We met our friends Phillina and Savannah at the park thsi afternoon. We went down the slides and swung on the swings. (is swung a word??) We let the girls play in the sand/dirt. It was hilarious, I wish I had gotten the camera out for it, they were full of sand! Whtiney, and myself, couldn't believe she was getting down and dirty!

Video Tuesday

Here's another walking video. She is really starting to take off on her own these last few days and she seems to walk the most in the evening when Wade is home. I'm thinking maybe she feels more comfortable being able to walk back and forth to us, where as during the day she is more trying to chase me around and trying to be right where I am. This isn't the last of the videos, you're probably going to get sick of them. I'm just so proud of her and excited that she is walking I like to share it with everyone. And walking babies are so darn cute, you can't help but want to watch them on their wobbly legs!

10 Months

Whitney turned 10 months on March 1. She is quite the character now. Every day you can just see that she is learning and processing more. SHe is approximately 19lbs and has six teeth. She seems to get one tooth per month. As you have read she started walking last week. In the last few days she has started to walk off on her own. She doesn't make it too far, but she is trying. She also likes to clap, wave, kiss and look at herself in the mirror. She makes the funniest faces at herself and turns her head from side to side. She pretty much self feeds. Once in a while she will let me feed her oatmeal. She still loves blueberries and eats them every day. Mac and cheese has also become one of her favorites. It's really hard not to laugh at her when she pushes food out of her mouth because she doesn't like it or decides she is done eating mid chew. She drops food over the edge when she is done eating, or to try to get a reaction from me.
I recently Ferberized Whitney and she is sleeping through the night again. (knock on wood, we have only been through three nights of the Ferber Method and last night was the first full night of sleep) My friend had success recently with her daughter and with Whitney's frequent wakings to nurse I finally got the motivation to do it. Now that she is no longer nursing to sleep or during the night, I hope this will start the weaning process. In the last few days i can really tell that she is eating better during the day too.
I would have like to have posted some more pictures but Wade has the laptop while he is out of town and our desktop is a dinosaur and it takes FOR-EV-ER. (gotta say that like they do in Sandlot.. FOR-EV-ER!) Especially when Whitney gets a hold of the keyboard and makes the computer think too hard. More pictures soon, I have to show you her excited face.
