Thank You

Grandma Bissell and Whitney 5/29/2009
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to visit us this last month and who has helped us out. I'll start by saying thanks to the group of girls I do lunch with. We had a meal every day of the week the second week we were home, it was so awesome not to have to cook, and they made sides and dessert along with the main dish. Wow!!
Wade's dad was first to visit, helping us home from the hospital. Bob bought Whitney her first pink camouflage clothing.

Then my parents, who came to visit us twice. This last visit they stayed a week, just leaving today. They made sure we had food in the fridge and supper on the table every night. Mom cleaned bathrooms again too!! I suppose it's time for me to figure out how to get meals on the table myself :( And it was nice to have babysitters and get a shower in every day!

Our next visitors were Wade's mom, Roger and Great Grandma Audrey. They brought food too! Grandma Audrey likes to fold clothes. Love visitors!!
I already told you about Matt and Tiffany, who also brought food! And the Welsh clan from Camdenton came that weekend to see the babies, and they brought food too!!

Everyone is welcome any time, as long as you bring food with you!!!!!

Double Trouble

Last weekend Wade's brother Matt and his wife Tiffany brought their son Owen down to visit us. Owen was born April 13 and Whitney May 01. It was lots of fun hanging out as new parents, though the kids wear us out. We were in bed by 9:30 saturday night! Can't wait to watch the cousins grow up together!

Four Years

We have been married four years today! Let me give you a quick run down of what we have been up to in the last four years....

We have lived in six different houses- Lake house in Manhattan, then to Ogden, KS, then moved to FLW, then to Davenport for a year, back to FLW, and now in the house we bought in January.

Wade finished his Masters degree in Geological Engineering last summer and took command this February. I had been substitute teaching since we moved back here, and will now be a stay at home mom. Yay!!

We have been on some great vacations, Key West for our engagement, a cruise, Estes Park for our honeymoon, North Carolina, and Lake of the Ozarks. And I took a ski trip to Colorado.

We have been through one deployment. (technically two, but only one year as a married couple)

And our most recent special occasion, the birth of our daughter!

We have much to be thankful for and I'm looking forward to the years that come!

My First Mother's Day

Today marks my first Mother's Day!! It still amazes me that Whitney is here, that I have a daughter! Whitney started the day off very nicely by sleeping for 4 hours, feeding, then sleeping for another 3 hours. She's really been sleeping well the past five nights, I hope she is developing a routine for herself. Wade made us brunch, and you can see what a good job he did picking out Mother's Day presents. Though Whitney sure is a present enough for me! We had my parents in town for the weekend, and it was very helpful to have my mom here cleaning and cooking all weekend. She even did the bathrooms! And my dad helped Wade fix some stuff around the house and plant the trees they gave us for Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone!!!

Our Baby Girl

Whitney Lynn was born Friday May 01 at 12:34pm. She weighed 6 lbs 5 oz. and measured 20 inches. We went into the hospital thursday night after my water broke. We got in one last belly pic before we were out the door!

Everyone is doing well and we are adjusting to parenthood and lack of sleep! It is so helpful to have Wade at home, I am not looking forward to him going back to work! We are so happy that she is healthy and finally here. It is so wonderful to kiss her little nose and to hold her in our arms. Such a sweet beautiful baby!
